What should we bring?
Bring food and drink for your party. We
have a microwave. We provide complimentary coffee and there is
water on board; but, most prefer bringing their own bottled
water.
You're welcome to bring a cooler
(preferably one without wheels). Stock it full of what you'll
want for a day on the ocean.
Here's a short list of our
suggestions:
- Sunscreen
- Sea-sick? Doctor-prescribed
patch. We strongly suggest the patch - we've seen it
work. Sea-sick pills either make you groggy or don't help
much at all.
- Sunglasses
- polarized are best so you can see into the water-

(leave this in your
vehicle)- F
ood
(lunch, chips, etc) and drink for the day.
Bottled water is also a good idea. There is water on the
boat, but most people prefer to bring their own bottled
water.- Rain boots. Tennis shoes are fine, but your feet might
get wet
.- Comfortable clothes.
Don't show up in high heels or dresses.
-
Rain Gear is optional but a really good
idea.

Can we bring alcohol?
You're welcome to bring beer in
a can (bottles are not welcome). Hard liquor is not permitted.
If you can't handle your liquor, don't drink. If you get drunk
on board, you will be kicked off the deck! If you continue to
be obnoxious, the Coast Guard or local police will be
contacted and you will be met by them at the dock.
Anyone showing up at departure time intoxicated will not be
allowed to board. There are no exceptions.

How should we dress?
Dressing in layers is the best way to go. Think rain, wind,
and cold. Hope for sunshine, calm seas, and smooth bar.

Do we bring bait? Tackle?
Nope. Everything you need to
fish with is provided by us.
You can bring your own bait and tackle if you wish - just let the deckhand
know when you get on board.

When and how do we pay?
You must pay for your trip prior
to boarding the boat. All trips must be booked through Deep
Sea Charters. (NOTE: If you had booked your trip prior to
2/12/10, you would have booked through Ultimate Charters &
Adventures and you are fine).

Will I get seasick?
That is a good question.
Seasickness is a personal condition: Inner ear problems, sinus
infections, big breakfasts, rough bar crossings, hangovers...
any one or all of these can make your day at sea down right
horrible.
We suggest you get a good
night's sleep. Don't eat a large breakfast (esp if you usually
don't). Keep your stomach empty until you do cross the bar.
Then eat lightly until you are sure it won't come back up.
Medicines - there are numerous
medications available.
Do they work? If you believe you will suffer
from seasickness, ask your doctor about the 'behind-the-ear'
patch. We've seen it work more often than other cures.

Can I bring my children?
Sure. Kids can come as long as
they behave. They must listen to the crew. We won't ask them
to climb the mast; but, we need to know they will follow all
safety rules. We welcome all kids!

Do we tip the deckhand?
Yes. Deckhands work for tips. If
they did a good job baiting your hook, netting your fish,
telling funny fishing stories, a 10-15% gratuity is
greatly appreciated. Here's a general idea: $5 tip: bare
minimum; $10 tip: job well done; $20 tip: great awesome tip!
